Maritime transport

Our company has been operating in the field of shipping since 1991. In addition to the port of Arkhangelsk, where Belomortrans is from, we work in Murmansk, Dudinka, Pevek, Tiksi and Novaya Zemlya.

Arkhangelsk and Murmansk are ports of year-round navigation, but shipping along the Northern Sea Route (Northern Delivery) is limited to navigation periods.

Summer navigation — from mid-July to mid-October.

Winter navigation — from late January to mid-April.

These are conditional terms, in fact, the navigation period is determined by the maritime services every year for each area of navigation, depending on the weather conditions.

We carry out sea transportation both on part-cargo terms and by whole ships. You can read about the carriage of goods by individual ships on the page Chartering of vessels.

Maritime transport

Sending goods on the condition of part cargo is carried out in the following directions:

  • Kharasavey
  • Sabetta
  • Salman
  • Dudinka
  • Pevek
  • Tiksi
  • New land
  • Naryan-Mar

Other directions are also possible; you can check this with our specialists.

When sending goods on a part-cargo basis, a ton of cargo or a freight unit (FU) can be taken for a calculated value formation unit. For a freight unit of cargo during sea transportation, a unit of measurement is taken, depending on what is greater in a cargo package: if the gross weight of one package is a measure of weight, expressed in tons; if its overall (largest) volume is a measure of the volume of cargo, expressed in cubic meters.

Transportation of goods by sea requires a certain package. We provide packaging and filling services at our warehouses in Arkhangelsk and Murmansk. You can find out more about this at the link.

Sea transportation to the Arctic zone is also associated with the tasks of delivering goods to the final recipient. We also carry out road transportation, including hard-to-reach places.

Our company also takes part in the delivery of goods for the Vostok Oil project. In this direction, we offer not only the shipment of goods by sea in the direction of the Sever Bay, but also the consolidation of cargo consignments in the industrial area of Dudinka for subsequent shipment via winter roads.
